A Traditional Approach To Education

BAA exercises the traditional approach to education to provide the students with the best possible academic program. Students at BAA are not only mastering facts but, more importantly, exercising their individual reasoning ability. This traditional system of education stimulates the mind and builds good character, effectively preparing future leaders.
Each student is expected and encouraged to perform to his or her maximum potential. We proudly emphasize personal responsibility, training the students to take initiative for their learning and their future. The scripture is our bases for promoting personal responsibility and stewardship. (Galatians 6:4-5; Romans 14:12)

Kindergarten

Your child’s future academic success depends on a solid foundation. BAA students have fun while learning the basics – reading, writing, and numbers -and so much more! Our reading begins with letter sounds, progressing to reading words, sentences, and stories in their own reading books. Each day their vocabulary and language skills are enhanced while they learn about animals, famous people, and faraway countries. Learning to recognize and understand number concepts are also part of our program. Students learn to count from 1 -100, distinguish before- and after- numbers, and solve simple combinations. Daily games and activities are integrated within each subject. Bible time is a favorite for our students, with prayer-time and Bible stories. The culmination of the Kindergarten year is a formal graduation ceremony in May, complete with cap, tassel, and gown. Children turning 5 by January 1 are eligible to apply for Kindergarten.

1st Grade – 8th Grade

The elementary and Junior High years at BAA will build upon the foundation of learning, whether begun at BAA or transferring in from another school. Our program is designed to help the average student achieve above-average performance. We emphasize the successful completion of the fundamental areas of study and stress acquisition of facts and critical thinking skills. Effective teaching methods are utilized with the receptiveness to improve procedures. Realizing the difference in the innate ability of our students, we encourage and expect them to do their best. The traditional system of education, educates the mind and builds character, nurturing academic abilities, social alertness, spiritual awareness, and critical thinking skills. The result of the program is designed to achieve an enthusiasm for learning and the Christian environment.
